ABOUT EXIT RAMP

More flexibility for the road ahead.
Exit Ramp is an optional benefit you can add when you buy or lease a vehicle from a participating dealer. If your needs change after the first year, it gives you a path back to that dealer and a defined benefit toward your next vehicle, even if you still owe more than your current one is worth.
You can’t choose what the future holds. You can choose to prepare for it.

Why Exit Ramp exists

03

Exit Ramp was built for that moment. Instead of waiting for equity to catch up, you have a possible path forward that was set up the day you drove home.

02

Changing vehicles before your loan or lease ends can be hard when you owe more than the vehicle is worth. That difference is called negative equity. Without a benefit in place, it can limit your options or add cost to your next vehicle.
01
The vehicle that fits your life today may not be the one you need next year. A growing family may need more room. A new job may change your commute. Your budget, priorities, or daily routine may look different than they did when you signed.

How it works

TODAY

You buy or lease a participating vehicle and add Exit Ramp to the transaction. You choose a benefit amount from $2,500 to $20,000, and your agreement states that amount and the requirements up front.

ELIGIBILITY

After at least 12 months and 12 payments on your original loan or lease, you may become eligible to return, subject to the terms of your agreement.

RETURN

You give 30 days' notice, then bring your vehicle back to the dealer or dealership group you bought from to choose your next vehicle.

NEXT VEHICLE

If you meet the agreement requirements, your Exit Ramp benefit may help cover the gap between your loan payoff and your trade-in value, up to the amount in your agreement. It is applied toward your replacement vehicle.

What to know before you add it

Exit Ramp works best when you know exactly what it does and does not do.

01

It is optional. You are never required to buy Exit Ramp, and your financing or vehicle purchase cannot depend on it.

02

It is added at purchase or lease. Exit Ramp cannot be added later.

03

The benefit is fixed and capped. Your benefit amount is set in advance. It does not mean every dollar of negative equity will be covered, and any amount beyond your benefit remains your responsibility.

04

It stays with your dealer. The benefit goes toward a replacement vehicle from the dealer or dealership group you bought from. It cannot be taken to another dealer, and there is no cash alternative.

05

Mileage and condition matter. The benefit may be reduced for mileage over 18,000 miles per year on financed vehicles (or your lease allowance), and for wear, damage, or missed maintenance found at the turn-in inspection.

06

Some vehicles and loans do not qualify. Electric vehicles, vehicles priced above 125% of MSRP (new) or book value (used), vehicles used for emergency services, and loans financed in-house by the dealer are not eligible.

07

It cannot be cancelled or transferred. The agreement stays with you and your vehicle for the term of your loan or lease.

08

It is not auto insurance. Exit Ramp is not physical damage or liability coverage and does not replace your auto policy.

Getting the most from your benefit

A little care goes a long way at turn-in. Keep up with scheduled maintenance and save your service records. Return the vehicle clean, with all keys, manuals, and original accessories. Check that your tires match and have good tread, and take care of any open safety recalls and warning lights beforehand.

Common questions

Can I add Exit Ramp after I buy my vehicle?

No. Exit Ramp is only available at the time you purchase or lease.

Not necessarily. Your benefit is capped at the amount you select, and it can be reduced for excess mileage or vehicle condition. Your agreement spells out the details.
No. The benefit is applied toward a replacement vehicle from your original dealer or dealership group.
If you live more than 100 miles from your dealer, or the dealer is no longer in business, the administrator can help you find another dealer within the same dealership group.
Contact the administrator with your 30-day turn-in notice. You will need a copy of your Exit Ramp agreement, your original bill of sale, and your finance or lease contract. You can reach Magellan Service Corporation at (877) 674-6123.
